Student opportunities and activities
At Waratah Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students at Waratah PS participate in the Premier's Debate Challenge, Public Speaking Competition and Premier's Spelling Bee. These activities offer students an opportunity to showcase their skills in specific areas. they build character and capacity in our lifelong learners.
Creative and performing arts
Students at Waratah PS have lessons in Creative and Performing Arts as part of their weekly program. In addition, students have the opportunity to join the Dance Groups, Choir or participate in Yidaki lessons. These opportunities help student develop creativity, confidence and collaboration skills.
Sporting competitions and events
Students at Waratah PS participate in sport and PE lessons weekly. They also have opportunities to sign up for special events such as PSSA (Primary School Sports Association) Knockouts, specialised training offered by external orgaisations and yearly athletics, swimming or cross country carnivals. These help kids stay active, build capacity and appreciate the value of a fit, healthy lifestyle.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
