School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

Our school events may include:

Harmony Week and Book Week events

performances, concerts or school productions
fundraising, charity and community events

graduation and other celebrations.

Police Station Visit December 2025

Students identified as having skills in the Creative Domain, were able to visit the Waratah Police Command Station on Monday. They took a gift with them made by students from our school.

Our team played three thrilling games against Eleebana Public, Dudley Public and St Patrick’s Wallsend, showing fantastic teamwork, determination and plenty of smiles.

Stage 1 Science - Create an Arcade Game

Last term in Science, our Stage 1 students explored push and pull forces, discovering how these forces make objects move and how their strength affects speed and distance. They also investigated gravity as a force that pulls everything back toward Earth.

To put their learning into action, students were challenged with a school holiday project to design and create their very own arcade-style game, inspired by the force concepts we’d been exploring. Each game needed to use either a push or pull force to play, be safe to use, and be made from recyclable materials.

With enough arcade games to rival Timezone arriving at school in week 1, we were absolutely blown away by the enthusiasm and creativity our Stage 1 students displayed!

From pinball-style games, claw machines, and basketball shootouts to mini soccer, various catapults, and even a terrifying Sea Monster, our young engineers amazed us with their innovation, problem-solving, and scientific thinking. We even spotted a few “Tipping Point” games as an ode to Mr Lynch’s game show days!

It was wonderful to see students’ ideas come to life and the excitement as classmates tested each other’s creations. We are very proud of every student’s curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm we’ve seen in Science this year!
