Waratah Public School has a commitment to each student enrolled at our school. There are a number of strategies and programs implemented to support all students, including those who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
All teachers of students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander discuss goals for these students in consultation with families and develop a personalised learning plan (PLP) to help them succeed at school. These plans are reviewed throughout the year to reflect goals achieved and future targets.
Celebrations, such as NAIDOC Day, are also supported and celebrated by the whole school, from Preschool to Year 6, with Aboriginal community members invited to participate, deliver activities and celebrate these occasions each year.
