The English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) Program is an integral part of the management and delivery of effective learning for students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and learning English as an additional language. The EALD Program contributes to the delivery of culturally inclusive approaches by staff at Waratah Public School and provides services to improve the participation and outcomes for students and their families through the provision of:
- Intensive English language programs for students who are newly arrived in Australia with a language and cultural background other than English and who have limited English language.
- Programs for EALD students in mainstream settings including support within classrooms and direct instruction in ESL.
- Resources and professional development for teachers
