Meet our Team

Waratah Public School is made up of a fabulous and hard working team. 

Mr Mat Freeman - Principal

Mr Freeman joined our school at the beginning of 2020. Mr Freeman's roles in the preschool include, Nominated Supervisor, Educational Leader and Responsible person in charge. He is supportive, caring, calm and passionate about Waratah Public School and is a valuable leader of our preschool team.

Miss Rebecca Dodds - Assistant Principal/Teacher

Miss Dodds is the Assistant Principal of the preschool and an Early Childhood trained teacher. She has worked at Waratah Public School since 2008 and was appointed the position of Preschool teacher in 2011. Miss Dodds has experience working in an infants school in the United Kingdom in 2007 and leads the preschool team with Mr Freeman.  

Mrs Suzi Ward - Teacher

Mrs Ward has a background in Early Intervention and Early Childhood and has worked across Australia in a variety of roles. She was appointed to our preschool in 2012 and is an enthusiastic, passionate and skilled member of our team. Mrs Ward provides a strong artisitic and holistic element to our preschool and promotes the arts through engaging the children in creative arts experiences.  

Mrs Julie Limn - Educator/SLSO

Mrs Limn has extensive knowledge and experience working with children from preschool through to year 6 at our school. She was appointed to the preschool in 2016 and shares a love for the children in her care. Mrs Limn enjoys the challenge and benefits that children with additional needs bring to our service and engages in regular professional learning to support her pratices in supporting all children.  

Mrs Sandie Rufo - Educator/SLSO (Mon-Thurs)

Mrs Rufo worked as an SLSO at the school before being appointed to the preschool in 2013. She is passionate about working with and supporting children who have been disadvantaged. Mrs Rufo set up a Breakfast Club at the school and has worked closely with the Salvation Army to provide resources and support for families.

Mrs Tracey Lovat - RFF Teacher/Relief Educator

Mrs Lovat works in our preschool every Wednesday as a relief educator and is also a regular casual. She has extensive experience working with younger children and has a passion for project-based work.
